poet and saint, who modernized the Kashmiri language. His
400 year old tomb at Chrar-e-Sharief was razed in 1995…and
the villagers insisted it was the Indian army that started
the fire to smoke out militants holed up in the shrine,
as reported in the New York Times, 11 May 1995. |
